September 25, 2016, 1-4pm at the newly renovated dairy barn on the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve
Please join the Environmental Cooperative at the Vassar Barns and the Dutchess County Environmental Management Council in celebration of Dutchess County’s environmental activism and recognition of efforts to enhance our urban wilderness. The event will feature many local environmental organizations, including The Waterman Bird Club, the Cornell Cooperative Extension, Dutchess County Master Gardeners, The Student Conservation Association and many more. This family-oriented event will feature a number of great summer events for kids, including a Beaver Dam walk at the Vassar Ecological Preserve, a scavenger hunt, a solar display, information on recycling and composting, and music. The Environmental Fair will be a great opportunity for families, students and the environmentally curious to familiarize themselves with important environmental groups providing leadership and critical project implementation in Dutchess County. It is also a wonderful opportunity to learn about several great local amenities at the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve that are open to the public year-round. See what’s going on throughout the county and how you can contribute to the environment at home. For more information contact Jen Rubbo at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 845-437-7422.
