Wednesday, March 8th, 3:30 - 5:00 PM
Join the Environmental Cooperative and the Poughkeepsie Farm Project for a seed-ball making workshop and community reading! We will read selected chapters from Paul Fleischman's book, Seed Folks, which highlight stories of community service, collaboration, and achievement through members of a community garden.
Participants will brainstorm and create tangible goals for becoming more involved in their community, and leave with 'seed balls' that can be planted along sidewalks, in front of homes, or in a small garden. We will use seed that has been harvested and saved from the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve.
While the target audience for this workshop is children ages 6-10 and their families, student and community members are welcome to participate and help out! Transportation is available from Vassar College with an RSVP. Please contact Kat Rosemond for more information.
